Arriving in Athens

So when I last left off we were in London and now I am laying in our bed after a much needed nights sleep with this view from our apartment.

We ended up leaving London and waiting on the plane for a bit and then flew over to Athens.  Here are some pictures of our travels from PHL to LHR.  Both flights were great.  On the way to London we both watched some movies, and I got some sleep.  Tyler wants me to add what movies we watched: I re-watched Now You See Me after hating Before Midnight and Tyler watched Alien and the new Star Trek.  He says they were both great.  We also had  a pretty good dinner.

Our flight into Athens, once it happened, was pretty uneventful.  The skies cleared up, probably when we were around Greece, and we got some awesome views from the plane. (Photo #3 - note "This is the 90's")

Once we arrived, it was like riding a bike - we took the bus to Syntagma and then walked right to the Athens Centre.  Luckily they were still around and Maria (who worked there 2 years and AND did remember us)  took us to our apartment.  It was in a building that half of our group from study abroad were in so it feels like home.

We moved in and took a much needed shower - remembering to heat up the water of course.  In Greece, each unit has a small tank and when you want to use hot water you have to turn on the tank and warm it up to be used.  Then we had an amazing dinner at a local place that we've ate at before - it was closest.

Then we checked out the bakery - obvioiusly - and they remodeled and it looks so good :-)  I got someone to translate to her that we were here two years ago and the changes look amazing.

Then we passed out.  Today we plan on going on a run, going to the race expo!!!, talking to the Athens Centre about some of our travel plans, and inhaling Gyros.
