The Day After

The day after a marathon is not always fun.  We started off our day early to get the metro to get a train to Kalambaka, Greece to venture up to Meteora.  This was the furthest north we have traveled in Greece so it was pretty exciting.

The train ride was about 5 hours which felt good to rest our legs but then immediately was a bad decision upon standing.  Sitting still feels good until we have to get up.  Anyway once we arrived in Kalambaka we made our way to the hotel that the Athens Centre arranged for us.  We got our first views of everything and it seemed pretty surreal.  There was a heavy fog which made it look so magical.

We talked to the front desk about how we should go about getting up to the monasteries and made a plan for today.  We grabbed a late lunch, napped, relaxed.

We also confirmed all of our travel plans for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!!!  Later, we got dinner at a local restaurant and called it a night.  We have an early wake up to venture to Meteora!!!  I can't wait - it is going to be legendary.
