Meteora, Greece

Meteora was awesome.  We had some heavy fog which didn't translate well into pictures but it was still an amazing day.  We began with a wonderful traditional Greek hotel breakfast.  The woman, Dora, at the hotel was so sweet.  She really treated us wonderfully so props to the Athens Centre for setting that up for us.

After breakfast, the hotel called us a cab to take up to the monasteries.  We rode up and around and into the clouds.  We made some stops along the way and checked out a couple of the monasteries on the inside.  They were so beautiful.  We then made our way down the mountain by foot through the neighboring town and back to our hotel.  Here is a compilation of photos from our adventure.

Once we got back we rested for a bit, had lunch, had some espresso/hot chocolate, and watched a downpour of rain while we waited to go to our train.  We got very lucky that the rain didn't come earlier while we were walking.  We took the loooong train ride back to Athens and got things ready for this morning.  We leave in just a bit to pick up our rental car and drive over to the Peloponnese!

  1. I see what you mean about being in the clouds...this was the perfect place to reflect and send a prayer out there to the Universe.
